STATUS OF YOUR CASE
LEARN THE STEPS TO COMPLETE YOUR PAYMENT AND START YOUR PROCESS

This guide explains how to verify the status of your USCIS case, starting with how to locate your receipt number and check your progress online.

1. Find Your Receipt Number
Once the attorney has received all your documents and completed the review and preparation of your case, it will be submitted to USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) for processing. After submission, your receipt number will be generated.
The receipt number will be generated later by USCIS. This number is not issued immediately, and its availability depends on the agency's internal process. We will notify you as soon as it becomes available.
Through our firm: In some cases, the receipt number is also sent to our mailing address at Perdomo Dorsett Immigration Law, allowing the team handling your case to perform the appropriate follow-up.
This number:
- Begins with three letters (such as LIN, SRC, EAC, MSC, etc.).
- Is followed by a sequence of ten numerical digits.
- Serves as official proof that your application has been received and is being processed by USCIS.
How will you receive your receipt number?
- By mail: USCIS may send it directly to the address you provided.
- Through our firm: In many cases, it will also be sent to Perdomo Dorsett Immigration Law, so your attorney can track it.
Estimated time: Between 1 and 3 months from the time the case is sent to USCIS.
If that time has passed and you still haven’t received it, contact your legal assistant as soon as possible to confirm the status of your application and help you obtain the number.
This number is essential to check your case status online and monitor its progress.
